Support Groups
Mid Argyll - Weekly drop-in at the centre every Thursday and Monthly group: Carers Lunch every first Wednesday, Parkinson's every first Thursday and Autism for parent's support every fortnight on Wednesday.
Campbeltown - Drop-in group for carers every first and third Tuesday, Parent's peer support every 3rd Wednesday at the Community Centre, and Carers Lunch in Carradale.
Islay - Carers Lunch group every month and Craft, Chat, Coffee and Cake group.
Jura - Drop-in group to be confirmed soon.

Annual Events
Carers Week is a full week of activities throughout the second week in June. The highlight of the week is a trip to Portavadie Marina where carers from across Mid Argyll, Kintyre and Islay can have a lovely lunch.
Carers Rights Day is usually the last week of November when we promote carers rights and raise awareness of the needs of carers.
Carers Conference is where carers and staff from all carers centres across Argyll & Bute meet, discuss, share information and have fun.
Christmas Lunch is held every year for carers in all areas.
Activities on Islay
Craft, Chat, Cuppa, Cake and Care is a new creative group for carers on Islay run by Tracey Hunter. Dochas Centre was very fortunate to receive funding from the Dunlossit and Islay Community Trust, (over a period of three years) to establish the group which provides additional support for carers, an opportunity to have some fun, do something creative that they have chosen to make and to relax away from their caring responsibilities. As a result of COVID-19, the group is now running remotely on WhatsApp by Jennifer Gillies, crafter. Tracey bakes the cakes and delivers craft kits to all carers. The group is open to all carers on Islay. If you would like to join, contact Tracey on 07912 015 393.
Other Activities
Dochas Centre has fun competitions every quarter which you will find it on our Dochas Focus newsletters and Facebook page. In Summer 2020, we had a photo competition for carers to show off their garden and three lucky winners received Amazon gift cards. Our newsletter is full of useful information, helpful tips and a fun competition for you to relax with a chance to win a small prize. Don't forget to sign up for newsletter.
