Tuesday 7th June: For Islay/Jura carers we have a fabulous treat 'Afternoon Delights' at Craigard Cafe, Ballygrant from 2 to 4pm.

Wednesday 8th June: For Kintyre carers, you can join us for an Afternoon Tea at Harlequin Tearoom from 1 to 3pm.

Thursday 9th June: For Mid Argyll carers, you are invited to a day trip to explore 'Inveraray Castle' for a full tour followed by a light lunch and you will be free to roam the castle's beautiful garden after at your own leisure.

Carer's Support

  • Do you look after a relative, partner or friend who needs support because of age, physical or learning disability or illness including mental ill health?
  • Who is a Carer? A carer is a family member, partner, relative or friend supporting someone who needs help to manage a long-term condition, disability, physical or mental health problem or addiction.

Dochas Carers' Centre is an independent charity. We help and support unpaid carers by providing information and guidance which can make life better. There are many carers who live many miles from services and access can prove difficult or impossible. We have dedicated Outreach Workers who provide support to carers throughout Mid Argyll, Kintyre and the Isles.

You can call in person, phone us, request a home visit or make an appointment to speak with one of our staff during the opening hours of the centre.

Young Carers

Young carers are children under the age of 18 (or 18 and still at school) with caring responsibilities.  Mid Argyll Youth Development Services offer support to young people throughout Mid Argyll, Kintyre and Islay. The services include training, youth clubs, drop-ins, cyber cafe, community cinema, trips and much more. For more information contact 01546 603 231. www.mayds.org.uk.
