Congratulations to Catherine Paterson, our Chairman and Co-founder of the Dochas Centre. Catherine is awarded an MBE for her service to Health Care and Social Care in Argyll and Bute. She initially thought her nomination was a hoax and phoned London to check before accepting the news with delight on behalf of all unpaid carers everywhere, the people who made Dochas happen, her staff members, trustees, former managers, volunteers including her late husband, John Paterson and her family. She also thanked the person who nominated her. We wish her the best of luck that she will be able to travel to meet the queen and receive her medal this year.
