Fundraise for

Dòchas Carers Centre

Fundraising helps Dòchas Carers Centre continue providing vital support to unpaid carers across Mid Argyll, Kintyre and the Islands. Every pound raised helps us offer information, support, activities and services that improve carers' health, wellbeing and quality of life.
There are lots of ways to get involved. You could take part in an organised event, set yourself a personal challenge, or organise your own fundraiser with friends, family or colleagues. Whatever you choose, your support will make a real difference to local carers.

Some fundraising ideas include:

  • Sponsored walks, runs and cycles
  • The Kiltwalk and other challenge events
  • Bake sales and coffee mornings
  • Quizzes, raffles and community events
  • Dress-down days and workplace fundraising
  • Birthday, anniversary or celebration fundraisers
  • Personal challenges and sponsored activities

Carer's Support

  • Do you look after a relative, partner or friend who needs support because of age, physical or learning disability or illness including mental ill health?
  • Who is a Carer? A carer is a family member, partner, relative or friend supporting someone who needs help to manage a long-term condition, disability, physical or mental health problem or addiction.

Dochas Carers Centre is an independent charity. We help and support unpaid carers by providing information and guidance which can make life better. There are many carers who live many miles from services and access can prove difficult or impossible. We have dedicated Support Workers who provide support to carers throughout Mid Argyll, Kintyre and the Islands.

You can call in person, phone us, request a home visit or make an appointment to speak with one of our staff during the opening hours of the centre.

Getting Started

Whether you're planning a small community event or taking on a major challenge, we're here to help. We can provide advice, fundraising materials and support to help make your event a success.

You can also create an online fundraising page and ask friends, family and colleagues to support your challenge.

If you'd like to fundraise for Dòchas Carers Centre or would like to discuss an idea, please contact us on 01546 600022 or email enquiries@dochas.scot.
