Alzheimer Scotland has launched a new national online carers group for LGBT+ carers for people living with dementia. Supporting someone to live well with dementia can have its challenges and at times we all need someone to talk to.
LGBT+ people are generally much less likely to seek out help, so they have developed this safe space for people to come together, share experiences, and offer support and advice to each other.
The group facilitators will be Faye Smart, Alzheimer Scotland Dementia Advisor, who recently returned from a secondment working with LGBT Health and Wellbeing on their national dementia project and Janine Adair, also an Alzheimer Scotland Dementia Advisor.
This is an online lunchtime group held on Microsoft Teams on the first Wednesday of the month,12.30-1.30 pm. Starting on Wednesday 4 August 2021.
